Husqvarna unveils wire-free mower for commercial landscapes

Husqvarna is showcasing a new autonomous commercial robotic mower designed for large-scale turf maintenance in municipal and institutional settings.

The new Automower 560 EPOS uses satellite-based technology to create virtual mowing boundaries, eliminating the need for buried perimeter wires. According to the company, the mower is intended for use in parks, schools, universities, office parks and government properties.

Husqvarna said the mower can maintain up to 1.5 acres in a 24-hour period and is designed to operate alongside aeration, construction and turf renovation activities without disruption. The unit includes a floating cutting system for dense grass and uneven terrain, along with a pivoting front axle designed to improve traction on slopes up to 50%.

The mower also features integrated radar sensing and compatibility with an optional AI-powered Vision accessory intended to improve object detection and avoidance. Operators can monitor and manage units remotely through Husqvarna Fleet Services.

“With the Automower 560 EPOS, we’re not just introducing a new model we’re advancing the standard for autonomous turf care,” said Gent Simmons, president of Husqvarna Forest and Garden, North America. “This solution reflects where the industry is going delivering smarter, more adaptable, and more sustainable ways to manage large, complex landscapes at scale.”

Additional features include GPS-enabled theft protection, remote start capability, warning lights for operation in public areas and a hose-washable chassis designed to simplify maintenance.
