Sports Field Management Association (SFMA) CEO Kim Heck, CAE, announced February 2 that she is stepping down as CEO of the association after 18 years in that role. She released the following statement to SFMA members:
Dear SFMA Members,
I hope this letter finds you well. While it has been my honor and privilege to serve the association for the past 18 years, I recently made the difficult decision to step down as CEO, effective June 1.
I am incredibly proud of what I’ve accomplished during my tenure and the legacy I leave behind. Above all, I’m honored to have worked with so many talented and passionate people in this incredible industry.
Seeing the unveiling of our new brand at the annual conference in Savannah and the enthusiasm that surrounded it, I’m excited to have been part of the evolution of SFMA and know that I’m leaving the association in very capable hands.
The board will soon implement a nationwide search for the next CEO and further information will be communicated to you shortly. If you have any questions, please contact me or President James Bergdoll, CSFM.
I will continue to serve in my current capacity through June 1 or until a replacement has been named.
Thank you for so many wonderful years. I wish all the best for you in the future.
Sincerely yours,
Kim Heck, CAE, CEO
