San Diego Water Authority, artificial-turf companies offer discounts

A new public-private partnership has been formed to give greater incentives for residents, businesses and public agencies in the county to save water by ditching natural grass in favor of artificial turf. The San Diego County Water Authority announced last week that it had forged a deal with five artificial-turf installation companies to offer discounts on products and installation services to customers citing the Water Authority’s program. According to the Water Authority, the companies will take 10 percent off the cost of materials and installation for customers, offering an incentive that had previously been notable for not being available.- By JAMES PALEN, The Daily Transcript
