CSFM numbers continue to rise

STMA’s Certified Sports Field Managers program continues grow with 177 members achieving the designation. The program began in 2000 and a total of six people attained the designation that year.

Certified members report that achieving the designation has many employment benefits including increased compensation. Certified members average more than $7300 in greater compensation than non-certified members. In addition to the workplace and employer recognition received for attaining this designation, CSFMs report that personal satisfaction is another top benefit of becoming certified.

Certification is portable, and more and more employers are becoming aware of the importance of this credential when hiring their next sports turf manager. During the past four years, more employers have supported their sports turf managers pursuit of certification.
