Michigan baseball coach Erik Bakich couldn’t hold back his excitement when talking of the $2.5 million artificial turf installation project taking place at the Wilpon Sports Complex’s baseball and softball fields. He had a solid first season at Michigan (29 wins, 14-10 Big Ten), guiding the Wolverines to a spot in the conference tournament this past spring for the first time since 2010. He feels his program will benefit from the artificial turf, letting the players get on the field on a more consistent basis in early spring.
