A new replacement fee will be introduced for users of Delta’s (British Columbia) artificial turf playing fields. Delta council approved the new fee this week, which won’t begin until 2012. It’s part of a series of fee adjustments for parks and recreation facilities. A report by parks and recreation director Ken Kuntz notes synthetic turf fields have a life expectancy of 12 to 15 years. Delta’s oldest field at Mackie Park is almost nine years old.
