A new sports complex being constructed near here will provide about 40 acres of playing fields, including four softball fields, five baseball fields, four soccer fields and two football fields. There will also be a picnic area, concession and restroom facilities and dugouts.
The estimated cost of the project, planned for completion this coming spring, is $7 million, according to an article in the Mississippi Press. The Ocean Springs Ball Fields Complex is to be funded mostly by the 2% restaurant tax.
