The operator of a Butler County fertilizer plant destroyed by fire on Saturday hopes to keep the workers employed, a spokesman said Sunday.
However, the company has not decided what to do about the burned plant or the turf fertilizer that was made only there, said Gregg Brown, vice president for environmental issues for Excell Minerals.
The plant in Clinton Township employed about 15 people and manufactured the company’s premium turf fertilizer, Excellerator, which is used on golf courses and athletic fields.
