The Ohio Sports Turf Managers Association will be hosting a fall field day Tuesday September 22nd. The field day is being held at two venues: at Huntington Park, the new home of triple A baseball team “The Columbus Clippers”, and at Ohio Stadium on The Ohio State University campus.
The day will start with a guided tour of Huntington Park with Head Groundsman Colin Lattimer and consultant Eugene Maye. Following the tour, there will be updates on fall herbicide and fertilizer programs from OSU’s Dr. Dave Gardner and Dr. John Street, then vendor demonstrations. In the afternoon, the group is transported to Ohio Stadium to meet with Varsity Field Superintendent, Brian Gimbel and OSU Sports Turf Specialist Pam Sherratt, followed by more vendor and paint demonstrations.
It looks to be a day packed with activities and education, and of course a chance to meet with colleagues and vendors from the sports turf industry.
