Five sports facilities will be recognized for their leadership in addressing safety and security issues as part of the 2025 National Sports Safety and Security Conference and Exhibition on June 30-July 2 in San Antonio, Texas. The event is presented annually by the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) at The University of Southern Mississippi.
The Facility of Merit Award recognizes a sports facility that has demonstrated an innovative approach to enhancing safety and security beyond its normal operations or addressed a significant safety/security concern.
Each league or organization selects the criteria and determines who will be recognized.
Facilities receiving the award include:
- Lake Zurich High School
- Ford Field
- Sutter Health Park
- TD Garden
- The United Center
“We are excited to recognize these outstanding facilities and their management teams. They are truly dedicated to ensuring the safety of patrons and providing an optimal fan experience,” said Dr. Stacey Hall, NCS4 executive director and professor of sport management.
The awards will be presented at the luncheon during the conference. The awards luncheon is sponsored by Evolv Technology, which provides weapons detection systems for security screening.
