Dewalt grows its OPE line

“We want to help electrify this industry, and to convert landscapers to electric,” said Aaron Griffith, director of professional dealer sales for Stanley Black & Decker, including Dewalt. In the buzz of Equip Expo, Griffith walked us around the Dewalt display to highlight the range of new equipment available from the brand.

Dewalt has a new 14-inch top-handle chain saw powered by 60V batteries.

Dewalt presented a range of new outdoor equipment, including pressure washers and accessories, a top-handle chain saw, a power hand pruner, a handheld blower with 65dB rating, and much more.

“We want to get our Dewalt tools into power equipment dealerships,” Griffith told us. He said that, currently, dealers must carry Cub Cadet or Hustler brand products to get Dewalt products.

Zero-turn mower

Dewalt also showcased its Ascent Series commercial zero-turn mower. With its “crossover technology,” the Ascent Series commercial zero-turn mower can be switched from a standing mower to a sit-on machine. This machine uses Dewalt’s PowerEquip battery system and the GroundCommand web app. “With an extensive line of battery-powered tools and the greatest crossover compatibility of any brand, Dewalt is leading the charge in total battery-powered landscape solutions for pros who need the next level of power, reliability and efficiency,” said Christine Potter, president, Outdoor for Stanley Black & Decker, in a press release.

Battery-powered saws

The Dewalt 60V Max 14-in. top handle chainsaw uses a brushless motor. Dewalt said the chainsaw will be available in winter 2023. Dewalt redesigned its family of battery mowers. Four models – two 2x20V Max and two 60V Max units – will be available in spring 2024. They feature a new deck design, dual-blade system and LED dashboard for real-time monitoring.

Pressure washers

Dewalt’s new pressure washers are professional-grade tools powered by 60V batteries. In three sizes – 3000 Max PSI, 1600 Max PSI and the 60V Max 1000 PSI – will be available in spring 2024.

The 60V Max Low-Noise Blower features a compact design and foam for quiet operation. Dewalt says it still delivers results powerful enough to tackle tough clean-up and clear stubborn debris. The blower will be available in spring 2024.
