Volunteer Field Rebuild returns in Daytona

SFMA announced that it will once again team up with Project Evergreen for the Volunteer Field Rebuild, to be held during the SFMA 2024 Conference and Exhibition in Daytona Beach, Florida. The event will be held Sunday, January 21, at Palm Terrace Elementary School.

Renovation plans include the following:

  • Creating a new playing field for elementary school sports i.e., t-ball, kick ball, etc.
  • Cutting out a pitcher’s mound and bases, bringing in in-field mix for the immediate area around the bases and leaving the rest of the infield/outfield natural grass.
  • Aeration and overseed (if needed), fertilize and plant trees and/or flowers.
  • If time and the number of volunteers permit, help mulch the school’s playground area.

Further information, including donation requests, start time and volunteer requests will be emailed closer to the date. Learn more about Project Evergreen at https://projectevergreen.org/.
