AstroTurf and Coast to Coast Turf have announced the successful completion of a football practice fields project at Washington State University (WSU). The duo has transformed two outdoor football practice fields, known as Rogers Field, covering an impressive 109,407 sqft.
The turf used, RootZone 3D3 Trionic Blend, is durable, aesthetically appealing and player friendly. In addition to the outdoor fields, the collaborative venture also oversaw the installation of an 82,500-square-foot indoor practice field for the university in 2020. Equipped with the RootZone 3D3 Trionic Blend, this facility allows athletes to train in all weather conditions while experiencing the same high-performance turf found in their outdoor practice spaces.
AstroTurf’s RootZone 3D3 Trionic Blend offers an enhanced playing experience with its trio of fibers that mimic the qualities of natural grass. The RootZone’s layered system works to reduce infill migration while increasing stability and safety for the players.
“We are proud to have collaborated with Coast to Coast Turf on this project,” said Philip Snider, COO of AstroTurf. “Their proficiency in installation and dedication to quality complements our mission to offer superior athletic surfaces that promote optimal player performance and safety.”
This latest installation represents AstroTurf’s commitment to excellence in the development and deployment of innovative, player-centric, and sustainable athletic turf solutions. In partnership with Coast to Coast Turf, these fields will provide Washington State University athletes with a best-in-class training surface.
“By integrating AstroTurf’s advanced products, we continue to propel WSU’s sports infrastructure into the future,” said Shawn Deeds, WSU senior associate director of athletics, event & facility operations. “These revamped turf systems reinforce our ongoing commitment to our student-athletes, providing them with the best resources to excel both on and off of the field.”
“The partnership with AstroTurf has made possible the creation of sports facilities that are truly next-level,” said Coast to Coast Turf President, Steve Webb. “At Coast to Coast Turf, we’re proud to participate in projects that improve the sporting experience for collegiate athletes and contribute to the advancement of the industry.”
