Caesars Superdome Sightline renovation

Helical glass railing adds style to Caesars Superdome

The Caesars Superdome is a premier destination for every type of live event – from New Orleans Saints football games and college football’s annual Sugar Bowl to Monster Jam rallies, music festivals and private gatherings.

Caesars Superdome Sightline renovation

As part of a major renovation for the 50-year-old stadium, Sightline Commercial Solutions enhanced the venue’s safety and added a touch of elegance by fabricating helical glass railing on floating walls at the 200/250 Loge Levels and 500/600 Terrace Levels to create “super vomitories” with unobstructed views of the scoreboard and the field. Walls were scanned using 3D laser technology to capture precise and thorough measurements and dimensions of the surfaces.

Those scans were then used to stretch, bend and roll the glass into the correct shapes and sizes. Additionally, custom-engineered glass divider rails pair with VIP seating at the North End Zone Premium Seating and Club sections to create a comfortable and exclusive atmosphere for those closest to the action. The complexities of the custom railing designs – namely, stretch forming the helical glass and hand fabricating glass shoes – required a high level of technical expertise. With a diameter of 680 feet and an area of 9.7 acres, the facility is the largest fixed dome structure in the world.

Thanks to Sightline Commercial Solutions’ contribution of more than 4,200 linear feet of architectural railing, one of America’s most recognizable athletic landmarks is now even more distinct in its design.
