Nor-Cal SFMA to host webinar on tree care solutions

The Northern California Sports Field Management Association (Nor-Cal SFMA) will host a webinar April 26 titled Tree Care Solutions for Your Common Tree Challenges presented by Lisa Smith, Registered Consulting Arborist, ISA Board Certified Master Arborist, ISA Tree Risk Assessor Qualified – Instructor.

Smith has close to 30 years of experience in arboriculture. This includes all aspects of consulting, such as expert testimony, forensic examination, disease identification, tree specifications, risk assessment, technical consulting, and reviewing growing conditions that may improve the health and welfare of trees within an urban environment.

“An arborist’s job is not only to evaluate the health and vigor of your trees but to analyze their safety, enhance their structure, apply scientific evaluation and proper treatments so that we may enjoy a tree’s lifetime of beauty and comfort,” said Smith.

The webinar will cover the following:

  • Empowering superintendents, sports field managers and grounds managers to develop a good knowledge of tree-related issues.
  • How to identify potential problems.
  • What do the warning signs mean?
  • How to mitigate risk.
  • Strategies for “extremes” (winds, rains, drought, tree stress).

The webinar is free for Nor-Cal SFMA All Star Members and Club Members, and $25 for First String Members and nonmembers. To register, visit https://ncsfma.wildapricot.org/event-5222108/Registration.
