The Mississippi State University Turfgrass Research Field Day and Expo will take place at the R.R. Foil Plant Science Research Facility (North Farm) in Starkville, Miss., on September 22-23, 2021.
The event is designed for county extension agents, lawn care professionals, sports field managers, golf course managers, coaches, school superintendents, turf and landscape students, and landscape architects.
The event will be held at 972 Highway 182, Starkville, Miss. Check-in and registration begin at 8 a.m., and the event begins at 8:45.
Rotating sessions will be presented by Dr. Jay McCurdy (Weed Control Trials), Dr. Hongxu Dong (Turfgrass Breeding Efforts at MSU) and Dr. Barry Stewart (NTEP Variety Trials). A Lunch and Learn session on the topic of Drones for Turfgrass Assessment will be presented by Amy Wilber, and Dr. Edicarlos De Castro and Dr. Jay McCurdy will present an afternoon session on the Resist Poa Project.
The event will also feature a vendor expo and demonstrations
Pesticide applicator recertification credits are offered for Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas. GCSAA CEU’s and MSU Extension in-service training will be offered.
