Turface Athletics, a leader in the sports field construction and maintenance industry, is proud to announce its participation in the 68th PONY League World Series for the 16th consecutive year.
Hosted by PONY Baseball and Softball, the international tournament brings together teams from the 14-and-under baseball league. Young athletes from across the globe will play at Lew Hays PONY Field in Washington, Penn., joining a long history of young athletes competing to win the series.
Turface provides the field with an extensive overhaul in preparation for the tournament. It has donated pallets of Turface Pro League Red for infield conditioning and moisture management, along with pallets of Turface MoundMaster Blocks and Professional Mound Clay for preparation and maintenance of the batter’s box and pitcher’s mound. In addition, it donates pallets of Field & Fairway Emerald for grass maintenance.
“Lew Hays PONY Field really comes to life with the preparation that goes into this significant event for the PONY World Series,” said Jeff Langner, brand manager of Turface Athletics. “It receives the best and most essential products to provide the best play experience for the young athletes.”
While the city of Washington owns the field, PONY took over maintenance in mid-July for the tournament. After months of baseball games, the donated products and services transform field conditions — from the field, grass and playing surface to the fence and facilities.
“The PONY World Series provides athletes with a fantastic opportunity to show their skills at a young age,” said Abe Key, President and CEO of PONY Baseball and Softball. “Our partnership and team of volunteers allows for another successful year of the World Series.”
