According to a report by Jordan Guskey in the Indianapolis Star, teams in the NFL will no longer be able to remove snow before field goal or extra point kicks. It worked once last season for the Indianapolis Colts, but it won’t anymore. While the Colts were able to use sideline personnel to remove snow from the spot Adam Vinatieri used to launch the game-tying extra point last year against Buffalo without being penalized, an NFL rule change means in future games the same action will come with a 15-yard penalty.
