Vice mayor urges town to budget for field maintenance

According to an online story from the Covington (TN) Leader, vice mayor Mac McGowan proposed an additional $12,000 to the parks and recreation department to provide for a full-time field maintenance employee to maintain the city’s 12 athletic fields. “I think it’s something that we desperately need,” explained McGowan. “We have an opportunity to step up our fields with his leadership.”

Covington Parks and Recreation Director Joseph Mack had previously asked for the additional monies, citing revenue loss to the city from various tournaments due to the fields not being properly maintained.
