Invasive Plant Science and Management receives first Impact Factor from Thomson Reuters

Two years ago, Invasive Plant Science and Management (IPSM) was accepted into the Thomson Reuters collection of journals that are included in the annual Journal Citation Reports (JCR).  For the first time in 2013, IPSM has received an Impact Factor of 0.982.  This is a very good showing for a first time journal within this particular discipline. Additionally, IPSM ranked in the upper half of the plant sciences category in terms of 5-Year Impact Factor (1.200) and Article Influence Score (0.320).  As the journal continues to grow and expand internationally, the JCR metrics should improve and reflect the journal’s significance within the scientific community.

The JCR includes the most important and influential international journals.  It provides an assessment of a journal’s standing in scholarly literature through the objective evaluation of quantifiable, statistical information.  The analysis collected in the JCR includes impact and influence metrics and millions of cited and citing journal data.

Invasive Plant Science and Management is a broad-based journal that focuses on invasive plant species. It is published by the Weed Science Society of America, a non-profit professional society that promotes research, education, and extension outreach activities related to weeds; provides science-based information to the public and policy makers; and fosters awareness of weeds and their impacts on managed and natural ecosystems.
