The Sports Turf Technician position exists to provide turf and grounds maintenance services for the Department of Athletics in an effort to achieve operational excellence. Responsibilities include: exemplary customer service to internal and external constituencies; repairing and maintaining equipment utilized by the Athletics Department, student-athletes, sports fans and general public; performing duties required to properly maintain grass and turf on all sports and practice fields, and stadiums where results are highly visible; assists, as needed, in set-up and teardown for sports related and various events; ensuring the proper care, use and maintenance of equipment, tools and supplies; and, ensuring tasks are performed in a safe manner.
The hours of this position can fluctuate. The position may be required to work nights, weekends and a maintain a flexible schedule.
hiring range: $10.65 – $11.65
Required Minimum Level of Education: Not a Requirement
Preferred Minimum Level of Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Required Minimum Level of Experience: Some – up to 4 years
Required Specific Experience: Physical Labor and/or landscape experience
Required License or Certification: Valid Driver’s License
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to follow written and oral instructions
Ability to perform manual/physical labor
Ability to operate/use appropriate tools and equipment
