Sprinturf, based in Valley Forge, PA announced the acquisition of IC Improvements (ICI), a Hamilton, Ontario based Canadian Company. The new Canadian Company will be Sprinturf-ICI Canada and will be the first Fully-integrated Canadian turf company with all manufacturing in house.
In announcing the acquisition, Rom Reddy, Managing Partner of ITS-Sprinturf Holdings, LLC said ” The acquisition of ICI, one of the top Canadian artificial turf companies builds on Sprinturf’s strategy of growing the athletic business geographically and broadening the base of Sprinturf into non athletic applications. In addition, Sprinturf’s in house capabilities will allow us to bring innovative products to our Canadian Customers”. Ivan Couto, President of ICI said “Sprinturf’s model as the only turf company in North America making 100 percent of their fibers in-house allows us to bring a manufacturer-direct approach to the Canadian market with significantly improved quality, logistics and economics”. Ivan will remain with Sprinturf-ICI as Director of Canadian operations and Vice President of the parent company.
