2022 World Cup in Qatar: Many stadiums needed

In light of Qatar winning the bid to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup , they now have 12 years to excel in the most ambitious stadium development projects to date – to design and develop stadiums which will successfully utilise innovative cooling technologies, allowing the global tournament to be held in the Middle East’s summer months. Qatar is on the precipice of making sporting history by overcoming unique obstacles in the design and development of cutting-edge stadiums, such as implementing future-proof designs which are suitable for the Middle Eastern climate, applying a modular approach to construction and introducing multifunctional venues in order to achieve a lasting legacy. There couldn’t be a more pivotal time for industry leaders to learn from integral stakeholders and international best-practice on how to prepare premier, monumental stadiums for the world’s stage.
