John Deere announced a new investment in its irrigation product offering with the addition of four new positions – including two sales managers and two managers of product support.

Continuing its focus on serving as a solutions provider for superintendents in all aspects of course maintenance, John Deere announced today a new investment in its irrigation product offering with the addition of four new positions – including two sales managers and two managers of product support.


With the expertise these individuals bring to the irrigation portfolio, John Deere Golf is able to serve as an improved resource for superintendents when it comes to the full spectrum of irrigation needs.  “Our new team members have extensive background and experience in the field,” said Gregg Breningmeyer, global director of sales and marketing, John Deere Golf.  “We look forward to utilizing their industry knowledge – in product development, sales and service – to better meet the irrigation needs of superintendents everywhere.”


Jeff Kiewel and Kevin Johnson, division sales managers


Jeff Kiewel brings 16 years of industry expertise to John Deere Golf, having previously served as national sales manager for Rain Bird, and director of projects and sales for other leading brands in the golf industry. 


Kevin Johnson has a deep understanding of the industry througha variety of previously held positions – from golf course superintendent to landscape architect to irrigation consultant. Johnson has also served in various positions with John Deere Landscapes and Century Rain Aid, in Alpharetta, Ga.


As irrigation sales managers, both Kiewel and Johnson will develop, implement and support strategic plans for divisional sales to ensure John Deere Golf is providing the products and services needed by the industry.


Dave Maholic and Nick Minas, area managers, product support


With more than 20 years of industry experience, Dave Maholic brings a strong background to the John Deere Golf team.  His tenure includes roles from technical field service representative to golf service manager where he developed extensive relationship building and product support skills. 


Nick Minas is also a valuable addition to the outside irrigation team with a deep knowledge of landscape architecture, course design and construction.  Minas has been a part of the John Deere family for more than 10 years and has spent the last several years training customers and dealers on John Deere’s golf irrigation products.


Serving in the capacity of irrigation product support for John Deere Golf, both Maholic and Minas will be charged with developing and implementing customer support initiatives, customer training as well as product and field service programs to ensure superintendents and end users have best-in-class product to meet their irrigation needs.
