HS baseball coaches honor field in Towson, MD

Ripken Design announced that Carlo Crispino Stadium at Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, Maryland was named 2009 BCA/Turface National Field of the Year by the National High School Baseball Coaches Association. The award-winning field was designed for Calvert Hall and it opened in 2008.  Carlo Crispino Stadium is the first Ripken Design facility to receive the prestigious national award.

“Ripken Design is honored to receive such a remarkable acknowledgment for our work on Carlo Crispino Stadium,” said Jim Arnold, Director of Projects at Ripken Design. “Ripken Design was excited to have the opportunity to work with such a great institution at Calvert Hall College High School, one with a very impressive baseball history. This award illustrates that we are continuing to deliver results on behalf of our clients and that Ripken Design is establishing themselves as leaders in facility design.”

Ripken Design worked in conjunction with Whiting-Turner and Ballard Sports on the project, which lasted approximately six months from start to finish. The entire stadium was custom-designed for Calvert Hall College High School and the total construction cost of the project was $1.8 million.

The National High School Baseball Coaches Association (BCA) was officially formed in July of 1991, to provide services and recognition for baseball coaches and to help promote and represent high school baseball across this country. The current membership has coaches from every state sponsoring high school baseball.
