Flooded Wisconsin fields to get face lift

LAKE DELTON, WI—Extreme Makeover workers will hit Lake Delton next week, but there won’t be any haircuts or home demolitions.

That’s because groundskeepers from around the state are convening at Kaminski Park Tuesday to rebuild the two baseball fields that were washed away by Lake Delton this June.

Baraboo resident Craig Schlender came up with the idea of fixing the fields and is spearheading the project.

Schlender is the director of grounds at the Great Wolf Lodge and the owner of Ball Diamond Fine Sports Turf. He is also a member of the Wisconsin Sports Turf Managers Association.
