PA district remains undecided on surface for fields
BUCKS COUNTY, PA—Will Council Rock athletic teams be playing on grass or artificial turf this school year?
After four years, the answer is still unknown. Nothing was resolved at Thursday’s Council Rock school board meeting, and time is running out.
Council Rock Superintendent Mark J. Klein knew the discussion about real or fake grass could be heated and wanted to limit the discussion to one hour. Klein let it go to about 90 minutes, and discussion ended with the board facing an August deadline from a group called Turf The Rocks, which is dedicated to enlist public funds. The group has raised a $200,000 donation from two men and $192,000 through public donations.
