Snow and ice training from UW–Madison

The University of Wisconsin Madison (UW-Madison) will present Managing Snow and Ice Control Operations. This course is available as live online education Thursdays from October 1 through November 5, 2026 and also available live in person October 13-14 in Madison, Wisconsin.

The course provides a comprehensive look at winter storm response, from interpreting forecasts to selecting the right equipment and materials. Participants will explore best practices in plowing, chemical application, and environmental stewardship, with insights into liability, contractor coordination, and facility maintenance. Real-world examples and interactive sessions help you build actionable plans and policies for urban and rural winter operations.
