Nicole Sherry inducted into Trenton Thunder Baseball Hall of Fame

Former Trenton Thunder Groundskeeper and current Baltimore Orioles Groundskeeper Nicole Sherry was inducted into the Trenton Thunder Baseball Hall of Fame as part of Women In Sports Night at the ballpark.

Sherry served as the head groundskeeper for the Thunder from 2004 to 2006, making history as the first female head groundskeeper in the Eastern League.

“Nicole’s groundbreaking tenure in Trenton paved the way for future generations of women across baseball,” said Mike Warren, Trenton Thunder broadcaster.

In 2006 Sherry was named head groundskeeper for the Baltimore Orioles, becoming only the second woman in history to hold that position with a Major League Baseball team.

“Nicole has cemented herself as a leader and innovator throughout her career in the sports turf industry,” Warren added.

Sherry said it is an honor to represent women in professional baseball. She thanked the Trenton Thunder front office, her family, and the season ticket holders.
