The 2025 Mississippi State University Turfgrass Research Field Day will be held on September 18 in Starkville. The event will feature developments in turf breeding, cultural practices, weed control, and industry updates. Sessions will include:
- Weeds and Targeted Herbicide Applications, presented by Jay McCurdy and Amy Wilber
- Best Practices for the Best Grass, presented by Barry Stewart
- Turfgrass Breeding for Reduced Inputs, presented by Marta Pudzianowska
- The Basics of Pesticide Applicator Regulations, presented by Gene Merkle, Jasper Cobb, Hannah Ferguson
- Weed Control in Ornamentals, presented by Pawel Orlinski
There will also be a vendor trade show and spray drone and technology demonstrations. After lunch, pesticide applicator/CEU training will be held in the newly renovated Headhouse building adjacent to the turf facility. Attendees wishing to complete CEUs for the following states/entities must remain present until adjourned (AL, AR, FL, GA, LA, MS, TN, GCSAA, applied for).
