New England SFMA (NE-SFMA) had a standout presence at the recent New England Regional Turfgrass Conference in Providence, Rhode Island. With dynamic professional development sessions, an idea-packed trade show floor, and top-tier networking opportunities, the event was a tremendous success. The NE-SFMA booth served as a key gathering spot for prospective members eager to learn more about the benefits of joining NE-SFMA.
A highlight of the conference was NE-SFMA’s Annual Meeting & Awards Lunch, where President Art Goodhind recognized NERTF representatives, trustees, current board members, and welcomed new board members:
- Bryant Conant (City of Nashua, NH)
- Chris Lilly (Blackstone Valley Regional High School)
- Mike Malvoso (Town of Needham, MA)
- Scott Vose (Tom Irwin Advisors)
Goodhind also reflected on NE-SFMA’s 2024 achievements and outlined strategic initiatives for the coming year, emphasizing NE-SFMA’s core values as a guiding force. Notably, the introduction of the DeWolf Student Scholarship, grants, and a benevolence fund was met with enthusiastic applause, marking an exciting step forward for the organization. NE-SFMA congratulated this year’s award winners, and gave special thanks to Tom Irwin, Inc. for their generous support of NE-SFMA and their commitment to the regional sports field industry.
