The New England Sports Turf Managers Association (NESTMA) had a great showing at the recent New England Regional Turfgrass Conference in Providence, R.I. In addition to strong professional development programming and an idea-packed show floor, the opportunities for networking were top-notch. NESTMA’s booth served as a busy hub for members and prospective members to gather and learn more about being involved with NESTMA.
The NESTMA Members Meeting and Awards Lunch was opened by President Chris McGinty, who recognized current board members and trustees and welcomed four new board members: Kevin Benner, Ryan Bjorn, Andrew Carlisle and Adam Ferrucci. Executive Director Virginia Wood gave a well-received recap of the past two years of NESTMA activities, as well as future plans.
NESTMA award winners are as follows:
NESTMA’s Commercial Partner of the Year: Art Eddy of RePlay Maintenance
Scholarship award: Patrick Armstrong, UMass
NESTMA Sports Turf Manager of the Year: Elliot Linstrum, WooSox
NESTMA also thanked Tom Irwin, Inc., for its unwavering support of NESTMA and the sports field management industry.
