SFMA’s 32 affiliated chapters have the opportunity to change their chapter name and graphics to fit with SFMA’s new brand. However, chapters are not required to do so.
Options available include operating under a “Doing Business As,” legally altering the name, or just start using a new name without any legal modifications. Chapter leaders were notified of these options and provided more information in a direct communication to them on Jan. 28. For any chapter that wishes to align with the SFMA brand, the association will provide $1,000 to that chapter to assist with the change. Affiliation agreements will be going out soon, which will document how a chapter wishes to proceed.
