NJTF cancels 2020 Rutgers Turfgrass Research Golf Classic
The New Jersey Turfgrass Foundation (NJTF), in consultation with the Rutgers Center for Turfgrass Science, made the difficult decision to cancel the Rutgers Turfgrass Research Golf Classic 2020 scheduled for October 5, 2020.
This one-day event hosts attendees from throughout the country with a day filled with sumptuous food before and after golf, great golf on three courses, an impressive silent auction, and plenty of networking and socializing. This event is the major fundraising event sponsored by the NJTF and proceeds help support the Rutgers Turfgrass Professors with funds for new faculty, research grants, scholarships, equipment, and funds for special projects such as new research greens, upgraded irrigation and drainage at Hort Farm 2, and much more.
Every option for holding the event safely was reviewed, but canceling this day was the only responsible option. Considerations included social distancing, the State requirement for fewer attendees at outdoor events, travel restrictions from other states, quarantine rules for attendees from outside NJ before and after the event, as well as challenges for food and socializing.
The Silent Auction, however, will continue. Proceeds directly support the NJTF. Click the link below to view the Online Silent Auction. Additional products will be added so check back often.
