Players don’t like D-backs surface as much as the CEO

In a report by Jeremy Cluff of the Arizona Republic, he asks, “Is there a disconnect between the Arizona Diamondbacks’ front office and players regarding the team’s artificial turf?”

In an interview [last week], Derrick Hall, the team’s president and CEO, said that “we’ve had no complaints” about the new turf the team installed this season, but some players, including All-Star Ketel Marte, have voiced their concern about the new playing surface throughout the season.

Arizona switched to the new surface at Chase Field this season after using natural grass at the venue since the franchise began.
