Computing Irrigation Costs: Better Understanding and Managing Your Water Budget
Speaker: Wade Hamilton – San Diego Community College District
Wednesday, August 23 at 1:00 – 2:00 pm EDT
This online seminar will demonstrate how to break down and convert irrigation water use into dollars. ET data (historic, projected, and current), distribution uniformity, run times, water bills, plant material, and square footage of irrigated areas are the variables that will be used to project/analyze water usage. Step-by-step instructions for working through calculations will also be included. Determining run time costs can benefit facilities by identifying irrigated areas that could be turned down or off when there are drought restrictions. Information provided will also equip you with the tools to communicate effectively with non-irrigation managers.
