TrunkPump ready to help at Ryder Cup

WILMINGTON, NC—The innovative PTO-powered TrunkPump will be at the ready if needed at the Ryder Cup this fall at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, KY.  Both the TrunkPump VS Model for Ventrac tractors and the TrunkPump 3pt Model for category one tractors will be pumping at a moment’s notice should flooding rains dampen the international event.

Valhalla Golf Club will host the Ryder Cup September 16-21, 2008.  The top-ranked course in Kentucky has hosted numerous high profile professional golf events since it opened in 1986.  The Jack Nicklaus design features tiered greens with an assortment of challenging pin placements.  The Ryder Cup matches the best players in the United States versus the best of Europe in a prestigious battle for bragging rights.  A variety of formats challenge the world’s elite golfers over several days.

Mark Wilson, Superintendent at Valhalla Golf Club, doesn’t normally have flooding issues on his course, but knows to plan for the worst.  Chris Pappalardo, VP Sales and Marketing for TrunkPump, toured Valhalla recently with Mark and was clearly very impressed.  “The course looks phenomenal and the amount of care and work that goes into this event is staggering.  Hosting a high profile event like the Ryder Cup makes being prepared for anything and everything that much more important.  Having a couple TrunkPumps on hand will provide peace of mind should flooding rains wreak havoc anywhere on the golf course grounds.”

The eyes of the golfing world will be on Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky for one week in September as it hosts the Ryder Cup.  While tournament planners hope for dry weather for the Ryder Cup, TrunkPump will be standing by to make sure any water problems are dealt with swiftly and easily.
