New drag mat designs

CAMBRIDGE, MD—Cambridge International, an industry leader in metal product fabrication including drag mats, conveyor belting, and wire cloth, presents improved drag mat designs that offer dramatic improvements in the aeration and grooming of sports fields, golf courses, and other grass, sand and clay surfaces.

The newly designed mats feature a heavier 11-gauge rod, instead of the conventional 13-gauge.  The edge treatment has also improved from smashed to clinched, which prevents snagging.  These design enhancements increase strength and prevents distortion of the mats.

Another benefit of the new Cambridge product is its increased functionality.  The patent-pending Rivet-Free U-bar design allows for a truly reversible mat, with no more rivets digging into the field or turf surface.

Director of Turf Mat Technology for Cambridge International, Mike Truitt, explains that “In our research, we found that grounds-keepers were looking for easier to use mats that produced a better final result.  The industry had gone far too many years without any meaningful performance enhancements being introduced.  We determined that we could apply our engineering skills to dramatically upgrade mat designs and deliver a product that truly performs at the quality level that grounds-keepers want.”

Styles available include, 1 x 1, 3 x 1, and variable mesh openings, as well as galvanized or stainless steel options.  Cambridge Drag Mats provide superior durability and performance.  Proven to out last the competition, our mats save time & money.
