UNLV study suggests artificial turf may be too hot for summer play
Researchers from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the Desert Research Institute found the maximum surface temperature of green artificial turfgrass was approximately 69 degrees F higher than that of irrigated natural grass, and 62 degrees F higher than air temperature.

Board of Ed gets feedback on lights trial
A meeting held by the Board of Education to get feedback on the two-week pilot lights program on the artificial turf field was short and civil on Tuesday. The small group, possibly made smaller by the freezing rain, consisted of approximately 15 people, five of whom were neighbors. After cautioning everyone to be civil to one another, Board of Education Chairman John Boulton invited the public to speak.
