The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) announced that veteran sports and media marketing executive Chris Blumberg joined the league’s leadership team as senior vice president of marketing.
Blumberg will oversee the league’s marketing strategy and lead efforts across brand marketing, performance marketing, and fan engagement, with a focus on integrated marketing efforts designed to reach modern sports fans.
Blumberg joins the PLL with extensive experience across sports media and brand marketing, most recently serving as Head of Global Brand Marketing at the Professional Fighters League. Prior to his time at the PFL, he held senior marketing roles at ESPN and Disney, where he oversaw marketing for all live sports and original content on ESPN+, helping to grow the platform from zero subscribers to over 25 million.
“Chris is bringing a rare mix of creativity, strategic thinking, and valuable operating experience to the PLL and WLL,” said Paul Rabil, co-founder, president and chief creative officer of the Premier Lacrosse League. “During his time at The Walt Disney Company he was at the center of the shift to streaming and direct-to-consumer, and most recently at the PFL, helping drive growth and brand. We’re excited to welcome him to our Leagues and to witness how his perspective and leadership can help push us into our next phase of growth.”
“The PLL has built one of the most innovative and forward-thinking models in sports,” said Blumberg. “The opportunity to help grow the game of lacrosse while building a modern sports brand is incredibly exciting. I’m thrilled to join Paul, Mike and the entire PLL team at such an important moment for the league.”
The 2026 PLL season kicks off May 8 in Salt Lake City, followed by the WLL’s inaugural Opening Weekend on May 15 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
