In April, the Oakland Athletics (A’s) and the Sacramento Kings, majority owner of the Sacramento River Cats, announced that Sutter Health Park, home of the River Cats, will host the A’s for the 2025-27 MLB seasons, ahead of the team’s move to Las Vegas in 2028.
However, to meet MLB standards, Sutter Health Park, a Triple-A ballpark in West Sacramento, needs some upgrades.
MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred recently told The Athletic that those upgrades include construction of a new home clubhouse adjacent to the stadium, renovations to the visitor clubhouse, installation of a new synthetic turf field, upgraded camera capabilities, and the addition of club seating and video boards.
The agreement at Sutter Health Park includes an option for a fourth year in case the A’s proposed Las Vegas ballpark isn’t ready by the 2028 MLB season.
