Virginia Tech to host turfgrass field day

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the Virginia Tech Turfgrass Research Center will be hosting a turfgrass field day Aug. 28-29 in Blacksburg, Virginia.

On Monday, Aug. 28, there will be a 9-hole golf tournament at the Virginia Tech Golf Course with “Goatley Rules” with a 3 p.m. shotgun start. Awards and a welcome happy hour and dinner will be at the Holtzman Alumni Center at 6:30 p.m.

The field day will be on Tuesday, Aug. 29, with registration, breakfast and vendor engagement at 7 a.m. and the tours will begin at 9 a.m. There are three concurrent tracks for lawncare, golf and sports fields. Lunch will be provided at the Turfgrass Research Center at 1 p.m.

Registration is $10 per attendee and $50 for groups of five or more attendees.
