Landmark Seed Company announced that Wayne Horman has been promoted to director of sales and product development. “Wayne’s energy, dedication, and passion for the professional turfgrass segment are unmatched. He has been an integral part of Landmark for over 20 years – we are happy to recognize his value to our business,” said John Brader, director of Landmark Seed Company.
Horman is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a BS in Soil Science and Horticulture, with a double major in Turfgrass Management and Business.
Horman began his career with Scotts Professional Turf as a Territory Sales Representative. During his tenure he also served as the national account manager, and later the director of marketing for seed and fertilizer products. In addition, Horman consulted with several professional sports turf managers, and managed the Scotts sponsorship program.
Horman joined Landmark Turf and Native Seed as a national account manager following the sale of the Scotts Professional Division. Horman recently led the development and launch of the HD Sports 2.0 brand. In 2021, Landmark Turf and Native Seed was sold to Pratum Coop and rebranded Landmark Seed. Horman said, “I’m excited by this opportunity and the chance we have to build the Landmark and HD brands. They represent uncompromising quality, and we plan to grow that message across the industry.”
During his career, Horman served on several boards, including WISTMA and as the former president of the Wisconsin Turfgrass Association. Horman lives in Madison, Wis., and is married with four boys, and wonderful “very old” lab named Leo. He can be contacted at whorman@landmarkseed.com.
