The New England Sports Turf Managers Association (NESTMA) announced a webinar, workshop and cookout. Titled “Improving Turf Health in High Use Areas,” the summer webinar will be available on-demand August 1 – 15.
Scott Vose, technical Advisor at Tom Irwin Advisors, will launch a case study with a thorough site assessment including soil health, surface hardness, seed selection, compaction, drainage, tree root influence and more. Management recommendations, with a careful eye on environmental sensitivity, will be offered.
The webinar serves as the foundation for the NESTMA turf workshop on August 16. It is not, however, a prerequisite for workshop attendance.
The turf workshop and cookout will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2022, from 2 – 7 p.m. at The German Club in Walpole, Mass.
Answering the call for hands-on training, industry experts Nate Miller and Ryan Raposa from R.A.D. Sports will demonstrate the natural grass maintenance techniques covered in our summer webinar. Sports field managers will:
- Learn about specific testing techniques and management recommendations.
- See turf remediation equipment in action including verti-drain, aeration, top dressing, overseeding, and more.
- Take away practical advice to put to work on their own multi-use fields.
Following the workshop, members and guests will enjoy a summer cookout in The German Club’s Biergarten.
