Volunteers needed for Savannah field rebuild

For the third year, STMA has partnered with Project Evergreen to conduct a volunteer field renovation project at the conference site the day before the conference begins.

For 2022, that project will be held on Mon., Jan. 17, from 1 – 5 p.m. in Savannah, Ga. The location selected is Mother Mathilda Beasley Park, a 50-by-70-foot Little League Field.

STMA is asking for two types of volunteers!

  • Register to participate on Jan. 17 to work on the rebuild. The STMA conference registration form has a spot for you to sign up. Put your expertise to work. Some of the tasks to be undertaken include rebuilding the retaining wall around the field, laser grading the infield, adding clay and installing a new home plate, pitching rubber and bases.
  • Commercial members – provide product!  Send an email to Cindy Code, cindycode@projectevergreen.com, if you have any product(s) you are willing to donate. A complete list of materials needed will be determined soon!

STMA will provide transportation, water and snacks. Please wear closed-toe shoes.
