2022 STMA Conference tracks determined

STMA’s Conference Education Committee is working hard to put together another fantastic education program. The 2022 Conference will have nine tracks focusing on the different aspects of sports field and facility management.

  • The Turfgrass and Soil Management track will feature presentations on cultural practices such as mowing and fertility, turfgrass selection, soil health, plant and soil interactions, and use of biostimulants.
  • The Environmental and Pest Management track will discuss health concerns regarding chemical applications, spraying efficacy, pesticide bans, public concerns with use of synthetic pesticides, and weed management plans.
  • The Professional Development track will include presentations on diversity, equity and inclusion, pathways to enter the sports field industry, and effective hiring techniques.
  • The Construction track will feature sessions on sports field design, construction and renovation.
  • The Baseball track will cover research on infield soils as well as infield maintenance.
  • The Facility Management track will address implementing STMA’s BMPs at facilities, monthly management plans for sports fields, and common calculations needed for sports field management.
  • The Water track focuses on troubleshooting irrigation system electronics, wetting agents for sports field management, and precision tools for water management.
  • The Industry Development track will cover new trends and technology available from commercial companies, remote sensor technology, and research on performance testing and player safety.
  • The Synthetic track will focus on sessions regarding research on synthetic field maintenance as well as infield depth perfection.
