The Iowa Soccer Development Foundation, a local nonprofit that will own the Pro Iowa Soccer Stadium and Global Plaza, received a $500,000 grant from the Catalyst Circle. The Catalyst Circle is a group of visionary leaders who have recognized the power of joining together to support transformational projects and initiatives that provide long-term community impact.
The Catalyst Circle’s grant is another step forward for the Iowa Soccer Development Foundation and its mission to design and build a stadium and plaza to energize Iowa’s economy, unite people through shared experiences and to provide opportunities for underserved at-risk youth to experience the global game of soccer.
“The Pro Iowa Stadium and Global Plaza will be a welcoming space for sports, community gatherings, entertainment events and more,” notes Sunnie Richer, Catalyst Circle chair. “We’re pleased to support to the Iowa Soccer Development Foundation as it reimagines and invests in an untapped area of our community that is sure to add to the vibrancy of our city.”
With the Catalyst Circle grant, the Iowa Soccer Development Foundation has now secured $14.2 million, over two-thirds of the way to its private fundraising goal.
