DR Power Equipment, a subsidiary of Generac Holdings Inc. (NYSE: GNRC), a manufacturer of professional-grade, outdoor power equipment including an extensive line of gas and battery powered products, announced the closing of a purchase agreement to acquire the assets of Mean Green Products, LLC, an electric lawn mower manufacturer.
Mean Green Products developed and manufactures a commercial line of zero-turn, all electric lawn mowers. The patent designs and technology bring an innovative product to the zero-turn market allowing customers access to a quieter, zero emissions producing and minimal maintenance option. Mean Green mowers have the capacity to efficiently run for a full day of commercial mowing. The company is headquartered in Ross, Ohio, and was founded in 2009.
“Entering the electric zero-turn mower category has been a target of ours for years. We have watched the Mean Green team grow, develop new products and technologies, which led to us to aggressively pursue them to become part of our portfolio,” stated Matt Bieber, president of DR Power Equipment. “Mean Green products will supplement our expanding battery powered chore products and strategically drive us to integrate and develop new battery powered solutions.”
