NCS4 to host Safety and Security Summits

The National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) at The University of Southern Mississippi will host a series of Safety and Security Summits in early 2020, including the National Intercollegiate Safety and Security Summit, the National Interscholastic Athletics and After School Safety and Security Summit, and the Professional Sports Safety and Security Summit.

Details on the upcoming summits are as follows:

National Intercollegiate Athletics Safety and Security Summit

The 2020 National Intercollegiate Athletics Safety and Security Summit will be held January 21-23 in Columbus, Ohio. The summit will address critical safety and security issues facing those responsible for intercollegiate athletics safety and security. Every university program presents unique safety and security challenges in implementing best operatory practices. This is an opportunity for industry professionals to come together and discuss best practices in a collaborative environment with the goal of developing a comprehensive guide that will be the industry standard. 

Key discussion topics will include:

  • Crowd dynamics and management
  • Emergency action planning
  • Risk and threat assessment
  • Education, training and awareness

National Interscholastic Athletics Safety and Security Summit 

The 2020 National Interscholastic Athletics Safety and Security Summit will be held Feb. 4-6 at the McKinney ISD Stadium and Community Event Center in McKinney, Texas. The Summit addresses critical safety and security issues facing those responsible for interscholastic athletics safety and security. Each high school program presents unique safety and security challenges in implementing best operatory practices. This is an opportunity for industry professionals to come together and discuss best practices in a collaborative environment with the goal of developing a comprehensive guide to become the industry standard.

As with the National Intercollegiate Athletics Safety and Security Summit, discussions at the National Interscholastic Athletics Safety and Security Summit will focus on:

Professional Sports Safety and Security Summit

The 2020 Professional Sports Safety and Security Summit, Feb. 11-13, 2020, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga., will address the key critical safety and security challenges facing the professional sports industry and formally develop the 5th edition of the Professional Sports Safety and Security Best Practices. Critical issues will be addressed facing those responsible for safety and security preparations at event venues. Every facility presents unique safety and security challenges in implementing best operatory practices. This is an opportunity for industry professionals to come together and discuss best practices in a collaborative environment.
