Toro offers a number of utility vehicle options to help sports fields and grounds managers accomplish a multitude of tasks on a sports field facility. From the compact GTX and mid-sized MDX to the heavy-duty HD series, turf managers are able to select the best options to fit the needs of their specific facility. Here’s a quick look at the Toro Workman utility vehicle line and where each series can make the biggest impact on a sports field:
Workman GTX Series — The Workman GTX line of utility vehicles also features the same intuitive easy-to-use controls as the MDX series and is available in gasoline and electric models. With a hauling capacity of 800 pounds and a towing capacity of 1,500 pounds, the Workman GTX is both powerful and agile. A popular feature with sports field and turf managers when it comes to the GTX line is the ability to customize the unit with hundreds of unique configurations thanks to the full line of accessories, bed options, seating options and attachments. This allows sports field managers to create an ideal machine custom-built for the specific needs of the sports complex by incorporating the right attachments and accessories, like a medical bed, rear-facing seats, flatbed with side kits, hose reel mounts and trash can holders, among others.
Workman MDX Series — The Workman MDX Series offers simple, intuitive controls, accommodating a wide range of operators and skill levels. Ideal for mid-duty hauling, the MDX line is nimble, maneuverable, and comfortable. The MDX line is available in either diesel or gasoline options, and has a payload capacity of 1,650 pounds in the double-walled composite cargo bed. This model can be equipped with a cab for year-round comfort, and can handle a number of attachments to tackle tasks around the sports facility, including a BOSS® plow blade for snow removal and material handling, and a heavy-duty tow hitch for hauling additional equipment and materials across the sports facility.
Workman HD Series — The most powerful series of Toro utility vehicles is the Workman HD line. These heavy-duty Workman models haul up to 3,352 pounds and feature an EFI engine to optimize fuel efficiency. Despite the HD line’s impressive hauling capacity, it is gentle on turf, maintaining an outstanding appearance of the playing surface. Multiple heavy-duty attachments are compatible with the Workman HD line, including both drop and broadcast topdressers, 200-gallon tanks for chemical and fertilizer applications, BOSS snow plows and bed-mounted salt spreaders, and an optional all-season cab for year-round comfort, just to name a few. HD Series models are available with four-wheel drive or two-wheel drive and can reach ground speeds of up to 20 miles per hour.
Toro Workman utility vehicles have been used on elite sports facilities across the globe like Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and Real Madrid’s training facility, U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, St. Andrews Links in Scotland and in premiere events like the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
